January 2008
• New officers were elected. Tom Curtis will fill the position as president and J.R. Justice will be vice-president.
• Work continues on the sound boards for the gym.
• Family social dinner/dance was held on January 5, 2008

February 2008
• Teresa Muse will fill the position of association reporter.
• Sound boards were added below the balcony in the gym.
• Family social dinner/dance was held on February 2, 2008

March 2008
• A new FCCA website is currently under construction.
• Sound boards were added to balcony railings in the gym.
• Family social dinner/dance was held on March 1, 2008.
• Relay For Life used the gym on March 29, 2008 for fund raiser activities.

April 2008
• Lucy James Ferguson, a major influence in the establishment of the FCCA, died on April 4 and was buried in the Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church cemetery on April 6, 2008.
• Application was made to include the Fines Creek Bluegrass Jam as part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park 75th anniversary events in 2009.
• Mark Swanger held a fund raising Bar-B-Que in the old school cafeteria on Saturday, April 6, 2008. Mark Swanger, a member of the Fines Creek community, is running for a seat on the County Commissioners.
• Family social dinner/dance was held on April 5, 2008.
• The first Sunday Dinner was held on April 13, 2008. Sunday dinners will continue to be held on the second Sunday of each month.
• A benefit for Claude Phillips was held on April 19, 2008.

May 2008
• Family social dinner/dance was held on May 3, 2008.
• Mother’s Day breakfast was hosted by the men of the community on Saturday, May 10, 2008.
• Sunday Dinner was held on May 11, 2008.
• FCCA heard that the Bluegrass Jam was accepted as one of the events for the Great Smoky Mountain Park 75th Anniversary.

June 2008
• Caitlyn Williams was the recipient of the FCCA Scholarship. She will be attending UNC-Chapel Hill.
• Family social dinner/dance was held on June 7, 2008.
• Women of the community cooked breakfast for the men on Saturday, June 14, 2008.
• FCCA held a community workday at the school on June 21, 2008 to prepare for the Fourth of July activities.
• Rogers Reunion held on June 22, 2008 in the gym and cafeteria.

July 2008
• Community picnic began at 5:00 pm on July 4, 2008 with games and fireworks to follow.
• No family social dinner/dance held on July 5, 2008.
• Plans are progressing for the annual Bluegrass Jam.

August 2008
• Family social dinner/dance was held on August 2, 2008.
• Fines Creek Bluegrass Jam featured in The Guide of The Mountaineer.
• WLOS gave the Bluegrass Jam a 15 second spot on the evening news.
• 2008 Bluegrass Jam most successful in Jam’s eleven year history.

September 2008
• Family social dinner/dance was held on September 6, 2008.
• WNC Honors application submitted.

October 2008
• Family social dinner/dance was held on October 4, 2008.
• Mountain Mediation gave presentation to community meeting on October 6, 2008.
• Claire Stewart of Haywood Parks and Recreation met with group interested in expanding recreational opportunities at the community center.

November 2008
• Family social dinner/dance was held on November 1, 2008.
• New officers were elected on community meeting on November 3, 2008.
• Successful Veteran’s Recognition Dinner held on November 9, 2008.
